JingHui Ceramic supplies various custom metalized alumina ceramics in a selection of purities, mainly including 95%, 97%, and 99%. These metalized ceramics are ideal for use within high vacuum, high voltage, and high-pressure applications.
To suit different applications, these metalized alumina ceramic components can be shaped with different shaping methods in-house, regularly covering dry pressing and cold isostatic pressing.
Common metalized alumina ceramics consist of molybdenum-based paints followed by nickel plating. A coating of molybdenum and manganese particles mixed with glass additives and volatile carriers is applied to the ceramic surface to be brazed. The application of the coating may be hand-painted, sprayed, or robotically applied. After air drying, the coating is fired in a wet hydrogen environment at 1450°-1600°C leaving a "glassy" metallic coating 15-40 microns thick, to ensure high bond strength between the metallized layer and the ceramic base. In addition, tungsten is a typical metallization in our facility.
The fired coating is subsequently plated with a 2-6 micron nickel layer. The nickel plating is sinter-fired at 850°-950°C in a dry hydrogen atmosphere leaving a finished metallic surface that can be readily brazed using standard braze filler metals.

Metalized ceramics are widely used in electronics, high-vacuum technology, sensors, and medical fields, like vacuum interrupters, electron tubes, feed-throughs, medical linear accelerators/ power tubes, photomultiplier, X-ray tubes, and pressure sensors
