Ceramic Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor

Ceramic resistor technology uses thick film printing technology to print the Wheatstone bridge on the surface of the ceramic structure, and uses the piezoresistive effect to convert the pressure signal of the medium into a voltage signal.

Ceramic resistor technology has the advantages of moderate cost, simple process, high accuracy, good stability, small size, compactness, easy packaging, and wide application range. However, the signal output sensitivity of this technology is limited, and the range is generally limited to 500kPa~10MPa. In addition, the conventional hollow structure only relies on the diaphragm to bear pressure, and the overload resistance is limited.

Ceramic piezoresistive pressure sensors are usually used in hydraulic and pneumatic devices, process control, environmental control, servo valves and drives, etc.


 

Ceramic Capacitive Pressure Sensor

Ceramic capacitor technology uses a fixed ceramic base and a movable ceramic diaphragm structure. The movable diaphragm is sealed and fixed to the base by means of glass slurry or other methods. The electrode pattern is printed on the inner side between the two to form a variable capacitor. When the medium pressure on the diaphragm changes, the capacitance between the two changes accordingly. The signal is converted and conditioned by the conditioning chip and then output to the next stage for use.

Ceramic capacitor technology has the advantages of moderate cost, wide range, good temperature characteristics, consistency, and good long-term stability. Ceramic capacitive pressure sensors are widely used in automotive and industrial process control and other fields.

Conventional silicon resistors and ceramic resistors are difficult to ensure measurement accuracy and long-term reliability in high temperature and corrosion test environments due to their own structure and material characteristics. Ceramic capacitive pressure sensors just overcome the disadvantages of both and can ensure measurement accuracy and long-term reliability in high temperature and corrosion environments.
