Our ceramic grinding burrs are made of 95% alumina and steatite. 95% alumina ceramics offer exceptional wear resistance at a reasonable price. Alumina is characterized by ultra high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. It's more often used in reusable grinders.
As reusable grinders are relatively expensive, many companies are trying to bring in spices sold in disposable platic or glass containers that will work as spice grinders. Disposable grinders usually use steatite for the grinding burrs.
Why choose steatite ceramic?
Steatite ceramic is used extensively for insulation in the electrical and electronic industries. It is a lower-cost material than alumina but has excellent electrical resistance properties (which are retained at high temperatures), along with moderate mechanical strength.Mechanical Property | Ceramic Material | |
