Ceramic setter plates play a very important role for sintering process of ceramic and metal injection moulding ( short for MIM) components, as you know, the setter plate is directly contact with these MIM parts, the quality of setter plates will influence the quality of finished MIM parts. Ideal quality of setter plates will optimise part arrangement and secure MIM parts in the sintering furnace in order to prevent undersirable deformations during firing.
Alumina, as one of most universal and cost effective advanced ceramic material, offers excellent properties, especially high heat resistance, superb thermal-shock and corrosion resistance. High-purity alumina is an ideal choice for making various ceramic setter plates.
In order to ensure accuracy of the sintered parts, CNC machined precision rails or grooves are needed. Besides, perfect smoothness and flatness is necessary to maintain the quality of sintered parts.
